Job Responsibilities

The Administrative Assistant I – Records position is responsible for assuring scanned and uploaded patient documents are assigned to the correct electronic file and oriented correctly within the electronic health record system.

Essential Position Functions
• Copy, scan, upload, import and export protected patient related health records.
• Pull requested patient records.
• Additional duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required OR equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.
• AxiUm system knowledge preferred.
• Knowledge of basic dental terminology.
• Knowledge of office equipment such as copiers, printers and scanners.
• Knowledge of personal computers and related systems.
• Skilled at communicating effectively and articulately in both oral and written form.
• Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word and Excel.
• Manipulating scanned documents to ensure correct orientation.
• Ability to prioritize work and manage personal calendar.
• Must have a strong attention to detail when accessing patient files.
• Ability to learn to navigate electronic health records and filing systems.
• Ability to process repetitive documents in accordance with established procedures or specific instructions.
