This position is responsible for managing insurance information for Commercial Groups, Small to Large Direct Groups and Individual plans. The Insurance Representative handles all facets of the process from initiation of member enrollment through termination, verification of eligibility, monthly billing, payment processing and reconciling discrepancies on a complex insurance software system.
Resolve within 24 hours all administrative requests from both internal and external sources.
Research and resolve member eligibility questions from dental offices, brokers and company representatives.
Reconcile and resolve discrepancies between monthly billings and corresponding premiums received from large commercial groups, small to large direct groups, and the individual plans, and notifying customers of discrepancies between those premium payments and eligible members.
Provide outstanding customer services to our members by answering telephone calls or responding to emails.
Administer group and individual plans on a daily basis, prepare monthly billing premium statements as well as broker commission statements.
Daily use of insurance System to handle all customer inquiries, attach documents to groups, and work in a paperless environment.
Process internal and outside referral encounters in a timely manner in order to capture utilization and provide payment to outside doctors as needed.
Bachelor degree highly preferred or combination of education and experience. A minimum of two years’ experience in a health insurance environment, preferably in a group insurance premium accounting and eligibility related field. Strong computer and math skills, analytical thinking, sound judgment and other resources to implement effective problem solving. Ability to prioritize work, solve problems, interact with other team members and daily use of a complex software system. Must be detail-oriented, self-motivated and dependable. Effective communication skills both orally and in writing. Establish effective working relationships with fellow workers, customers and brokers.
