Appliance Fabrication Duties:
Produce removable models – pour and trim Removable impressions, duplicate models and articulate on removable hinged articulators. Produce acetal resin refractory models. Produce Crown and Bridge models – pour Crown and Bridge impressions, pin, cut dies and articulate cases (using simple, fixed-hinge articulators, semi-adjustable articulators and facebows). Produce refractory models for all-ceramic crowns and veneers. Fabricate – custom trays and bite rims following lab standards. Flippers/Treatment Partials – set teeth, bend clasps, process and finish simple to complicated Flippers and Treatment Partials. Reline Dentures/Repairs – Produce same-day relines (soft and hard) and complicated repairs. Cross train – in overlapping departmental jobs such as opaquing, metal finishing, waxing etc. Process Dentures – invest, boil out, pack, heat cure and finish dentures and partials.
Four years experience fabricating Removable appliances plus dental technology trade school, or equivalent, preferred. Must demonstrate proficiency in interpreting lab prescriptions and apply to fabrication of dental appliances. Requires excellent manual dexterity and ability to pay close attention to minute detail. Requires focused, fine-detailed work in sitting position for long periods and tolerate exposure to occasional low-concentration chemical fumes. Above average communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
