    Job Responsibilities

    Works in a team environment as the technical leader of design, planning, implementation and maintenance phases of Networking.  Provides significant technical leadership towards meeting organizational requirements relating to network architecture solutions for today and the future. 

     

    Essential Position Functions

    • Develop detailed design, installation and configuration documentation for enterprise system deployments
    • Ensure in solutions and deployments, the security of the enterprise infrastructure and compliance with all applicable security standards (PCI, PII, HIPPA etc.)
    • Contribute as necessary in a hands-on manner with the implementation of solutions in support of all projects
    • Advanced Experience in developing complex network architectures in a LAN/WAN/VPN environment
    • Work with other infrastructure teams when developing solutions
    • Act as a senior level of engineering escalation for issues
    • Understand advances and changes in the technology industry and work directly with equipment manufactures

     

    Non-Essential Position Functions

    • Participation in on-call duties is required for handling after hours escalated service calls
    • Provide coaching and guidance to less experienced staff
    • Additional duties as assigned

    Job Qualifications

    Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, or related field and 10 or more years of experience as a Sr. Network Engineer and 3 years as a Network Architect with emphasis on design, implementation and maintenance OR equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position.

     

    Licenses, Certifications and Registrations

    Active Cisco CCNA, CCNP, or CCIE certification

     

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

     

    Knowledge

    • Extensive knowledge and experience working with Meraki, Cisco Routers, Switches, Wireless LANs, Security and IP phone systems, and encryption technology
    • Extensive knowledge of networking (TCP/IP), SDWAN, LAN/WAN systems, LAN protocols, VPN/SSL solutions
    • Extensive knowledge of security solutions and industry best practices
    • Extensive knowledge on Datacenter Operations
    • Working knowledge of Windows Servers and Virtualization
    • Extensive knowledge of Palo Alto Firewalls
    • Extensive knowledge of F5 Load Balancers
    • Extensive knowledge of Cisco Nexus 3k, 5k, 9k

     

    Skills

    • Effective presentation, analytical, communications and customer relationship skills.
    • Proficiency with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio.

     

    Abilities

    • Proven ability to contribute to the analysis and lead the implementation of solutions to complex IT problems
    • Work autonomously on multiple projects and associated deliverables, time management skills are a critical requirement
    • Work with teams implementing large scale IT initiatives
    • Enthusiasm for learning new technologies

     

    Physical Requirements

    The work is primarily performed while sitting and/or standing, but will require occasional walking, bending, stooping and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs. The incumbent uses a computer and other standard office equipment to complete tasks.

    Ability to safely climb ladders.
