  • Job Details

    The Director of Facilities will be accomplished in new construction and remodeling of existing buildings or new purchases, as well as having broad construction knowledge, skills and perspective. The Director will also plan and set project objectives, goals, and deadlines; and develops schedules for obtaining them.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Manage a team of construction and facilities staff, convey clear performance expectations, and delegate work in a way that empowers ownership.
    • Oversee 3 key facilities divisions: Construction, Property Management & Acquisitions, and Facilities Management & Equipment Management.
    • Design build plan development and standard operating procedure (SOPs) for each division.
    • Measure progress towards obtaining department goals and develop action plans in collaboration with management teams to achieve the goals.
    • Direct and oversee property purchase, development, and management for all new building construction.
    • Manage construction and project budgets, estimate evaluations and overall cost management.
    • Overall project timeline, schedule control & feasibility studies relating to construction.
    • Manage relationships with external entities such as investment brokers, tenants, city officials, etc.
    • Travel throughout the service area to ensure projects are progressing.

    Job Qualifications

    Education and Experience

    Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or Construction Management  and five or more years’ experience leading teams in commercial construction projects, new building construction and remodels OR equivalent combination of education and experience which will provide the ability to perform the essential functions of the position. Must have a valid driver’s license for operation of a motor vehicle in Oregon, Washington and/or Idaho and possess an acceptable driving record.

    • General computer/software knowledge and willingness to learn new software programs.

    Physical Requirements

    Work is performed both indoors and outdoors with exposure to various weather conditions.  May be exposed to potentially hazardous conditions, noise and temperature extremes. Position involves frequent bending, standing, kneeling, climbing ladders, reaching below and above shoulders, and lifting objects weighing up to 50 lbs. while performing job duties.  Wrist, hand and finger dexterity is required to operate various equipment and materials.
